Your Church Community

St. Aidan’s Church is the red-brick building at 318 Queen Mary Drive in the West River area of Oakville, just one block east of Kerr Street. The fenced play area is used by our partner Positive MInds Daycare. Benches are available off our walkway for those in our neighbourhood who need to rest for a bit. Our corner parkette (Queen Mary Drive and Washington Street), created in partnership with the local West River Residents Association, offers a quiet, shaded place to sit in the summer months.

As an Anglican Parish, we are part of the Anglican Diocese of Niagara. Our cathedral church is Christ’s Church, Hamilton. Our mission is to bring an accessible style of worship, centred on the Holy Eucharist, with both traditional and contemporary music and full participation of all. We welcome all who wish to join us in worship, fellowship and volunteer activities in West River.

Church and Community Together

We aim to be a spiritual and practical resource for our neighbours and friends in the surrounding community. We provide spiritual help and guidance, enjoyable, inclusive worship, and a safe place where church and community can meet in harmony. As such, St. Aidan’s has refurbished its physical plant to provide much needed space for many neighbourhood groups.

St. Aidan’s is a hub for activities that build community, support individuals, families and healthy relationships, and address the needs of those among us who are less fortunate. Our goal is to provide a place for people to meet – a place that is safe, accessible, functional and able to meet a wide range of needs. Whether it is a yoga class, a concert or recital, an older adult exercise class, a Christmas carol sing-along, a children’s computer programming class, an annual general meeting or a poetry reading – St. Aidan’s will continue to be a neighbourhood centre for learning, growth and enrichment.

As an individual, you may wish to help either the parish or our community partners (or both!) as a volunteer worker or supporter – you may become involved as much or as little as you are able, or desire. Come as you are. You will be welcomed with joy and open arms. Please contact us for further details on possible volunteer opportunities
