Welcome to St Aidan's
Our Facilities
St. Aidan’s Anglican Church has been an integral part of the West River Community in Oakville for over 67 years. Our church is located one block east of Kerr Street, at 318 Queen Mary Drive, at Stewart Street (see map under “Contact Us”). We serve the communities of West River, Kerr Village and South Dorval – between 16 Mile Creek in the east, the QEW to the north, Burton Road to the west and south to Lake Ontario.
Our Wardens (Parish Council)
Tom Robus is our Rector's Warden.
Richard Brandley is our Deputy Rector's Warden.
Sheila Thompson is our People's Warden.
Bonnie Grant is our Deputy People's Warden.
Our Staff
The Reverend Garfield Wu can be reached at the Church Office Tuesday and Friday or on call. Garfield was born in mainland China and lived and worked there for over 30 years. He has undergraduate degrees in engineering, literature and law. He moved to Canada to pursue his strong call to ministry, and at Trinity College, University of Toronto, he graduated with a master’s degree in theological studies and a diploma in ministry. He began his ministry as deacon-in-charge at St. Aidan’s on March 1, 2018. He is also the Anglican Chinese Missioner for Oakville and the assistant curate at St. Simon’s Anglican Church, Oakville. Garfield is committed to mission, ministry and community development, following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Donna Slaviero
Donna is our Office Administrator and Rental Coordinator, and can be reached at the Church Office (905-845-6111). Donna works a variable schedule, so please call first or email her (admin@saintaidans.ca) to arrange an appointment.
Our Facilities
Centrally located at the corner of Queen Mary Drive and Stewart Street, our facilities include a fully flexible, air conditioned and accessible main floor space for meetings, concerts or other events. Accessible washrooms and a wheelchair access ramp from Stewart Street is available for this space. Below grade, a main hall, two smaller meeting rooms, a kitchen and washrooms are available. At present there is no wheelchair access to the lower level, but we are looking at options for making this space more accessible.
We welcome inquiries about the use of our space for family or community events, small group meetings and community-based programs. Please contact the Parish Office for details.
